Icons of Modern Art. The Shchukin Collection
To mark the occasion of the France-Russia Year of Cultural Tourism 2016-2017, until February 20, 2017, the Fondation Louis Vuitton, will be staging "Icons of Modern Art. The Shchukin Collection".
Organized in partnership with the Pushkin State Museum of Fine Arts, the State Hermitage Museum and the Tretyakov State Gallery, this unparalleled exhibition throws light on the private collection of the Russian art collector and businessman Sergei Shchukin (1854 – 1936).
"Icons of Modern Art. The Shchukin Collection" features more than 130 Impressionist, Post-Impressionist, and Modernist artworks by famous artists including Vincent Van Gogh, Pablo Picasso, Henri Matisse, Claude Monet, Paul Gauguin, Auguste Renoir, and Paul Cézanne.
The exhibition is curated by Anne Baldassari.
